Portugal July 13, 2012 Day 10

 

This morning we drove by the beaches and ended up in Cascais. Unfortunately, Mary was not feeling well, so they stayed in the hotel.

After lunch in Cascais we headed to Colares, in the outskirts of Sintra to visit our cousin Ernesto (whom I hadn't seen in 50 years) and his wife Berta. After a rather adventurous drive we arrived at his home at the top of the mountain.  As the pictures show, they have a superb view from their home.

In the evening we had dinner at the TIMPANAS Restaurant where we saw and heard some Portuguese folklore dancers as well as several Fado singers.
